Court Reinstates Impeached Plateau Speaker
Hon. Nuhu Abok has been reinstated as the Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly by a Jos high court.
Abok had been impeached by some members of the Plateau State House of Assembly in October 2021.
He, however, challenged his impeachment at the state high court as the legal battle lasted one year and six months.
Justice M. L Musa in his judgement declared that the impeachment was illegal, null and void.
The Court further awarded the sum of N20 million as cost of appearance and the sum of N138,000 as cost of filing the matter against the defenders.
