Overhead bridge collapses in Enugu State(photos)
On Monday morning, September 25th, a wooden bridge at the New Artisan Market axis fell in Enugu state capital. As the bridge suddenly collapsed, a fully laden cargo truck and an unidentified vehicle were standing on it.
The extent of the damage is illustrated by videos that have been shared online.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Works in the State, Engr. Members of the public were encouraged to make use of alternate routes by Gerald Otiji.
The message read:
“The Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to notify the public about the bridge collapse at Kilometer One, Nnamdi Bay Road on 25 September 2023 between Naira Triangle and Goshen.” While the authorities are preparing measures to restore the failed section as soon as possible, public and road users should be encouraged to use Nza between New Haven or Ogui Road for their different destinations.”
