Canada-Based Nigerian Lawyer Petitions ICC Over Bayo Ononuga’s Ethnic Incitements
A Nigerian professor based in Canada, Gideon Christian has dragged Bayo Ononuga, spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress to the International Criminal Court, accusing him of inciting comments against Igbos.
Christian in the petition accused Ononuga of inciting ethnic hate that culminated in violence against Igbos in Lagos.
Sharing the petition on Twitter, he wrote:
Pursuant to art. 15 of the Rome Statute, I’ve formally requested the prosecutor of the Int’l Criminal Court @IntlCrimCourt to investigate the conduct of Mr. Bayo Onanuga @aonanuga1956 in inciting ethnic hate that culminated in violence against the Igbos in Lagos, Nigeria.
