Kidnapped NPC Federal Commissioner In Bayelsa Regains Freedom

Gloria Izonfuo, the National Population Commission in Bayelsa State, has regained freedom from her abductors, Daily Post reports.

Izonfuo was released after spending 5 days in captivity.

Gunmen had kidnapped the NPC Commissioner along Ogbakiri axis of the East-West Road in Rivers State last Sunday.

Izonfuo, who was a former Head of Service in Bayelsa State, was kidnapped alongside her driver and maid while returning from a trip to Brass, Bayelsa state.

Her release was confirmed on Friday by the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko.

It is, however, uncertain if any ransom was paid to secure her freedom.
