Update: Court Extends Order Restraining Security Agencies From Detaining Yari
A Federal high court sitting in Abuja has extended an order restraining the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) from detaining former Governor of Zamfara state Abdulaziz Yari.
The order was extended by Justice Donatus Okorowo after Yari’s counsel, Michael Aondoaka, a former minister of justice, made an oral application to the effect.
The Department of State Services (DSS) were also barred from detaining the former governor, before adjourning the matter until June 27.
