Lagos state Tribunal affirms Sanwo-Olu’s election as gov, set to deliver judgment on LP’s petition against Sanwo-Olu’s electoral victory
The election of Babajide Sanwo Olu as Governor in the March 18 th state elections was unanimously confirmed by a Lagos State Election Petition Tribunal. The petition by Olajide Adediran of the PDP, which was presented in court and died on its arrival, had been rejected as a waste of merit by Justice Mikhail Abdullahi who delivered the main judgment. According to him, the burden of proof required under the provisions of the Election Act has not been met by the applicant.
The court is now on a five minute recess and will reconvene shortly to deliver judgment on the petition of Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour, the candidate of the Labour Party for Governor.
