Former minister, Maitama Yusuf, dies at 76
Former minister, Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf, has died.
Yusuf who served in the Senate from 1999-2007, died in the early hours of Friday, October 13, at his residence in Kano after a brief illness.
A family member, Alhaji Hussani Dalhatu, confirmed his death to newsmen. He said the late Sardauna of Dutse’s funeral prayer would take place after Jumu’at prayer at the Emir of Kano’s palace.
Yusuf was born in Gwaram, Jigawa State, in 1947. He was Minister of Interior in 1981 and Minister of Commerce in 1982.
