Widow beaten up by late husband’s family and allegedly evicted with police
A widow has allegedly been arrested and detained by police after her late husband’s family allegedly called the police on her.
This is according to Harrison Gwamnishu, founder of Behind Bars Initiative (BBI).
Earlier, Harrison shared photos of the widow bleeding from several wounds on her head. He alleged that the injury was inflicted by members of the late husband’s family.
He added the cousin of the woman’s deceased husband wanted to marry her but she refused, hence the abuse.
In an update, he explained that the woman has been arrested by police in Ejigbo, Lagos State, because she resisted their efforts to evict her.
He called on well meaning Nigerians to come to the woman’s aid.
