Shock as road commissioned recently by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu washed away by rain after few months
A road and bridge project, commissioned just months ago by former Abia Governor and current Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has been washed away by rains shortly after its commissioning.
The Eziukwu bridge and road, which were praised as a critical infrastructure improvement, were unveiled with much fanfare on January 29, 2024.
However, recent heavy downpour have exposed significant flaws in their construction, leaving large sections of the road washed away and the bridge unstable.
Residents, who initially saw the project as a benefit for better connections and growth, are now dealing with disrupted travel routes and mounting frustration.
