Actor Ibrahim Suleiman starts conversation about sexual assault in the Nigerian movie industry
Ibrahim Suleiman has gone on X, formerly Twitter, to start a conversation about sexual assault in the Nigerian movie industry.
The actor wrote: “The day #MeToo Nollywood Edition will pop off here? Scenes.”
However, Nigerians responded, telling Ibrahim that nothing will happen to those who are exposed for sexual harassment if victims in Nollywood speak out.
The #MeToo movement is a social movement and awareness campaign against sexual abuse, sexual harassment and rape culture, in which women publicize their experiences of sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
A number of Hollywood big names were implicated when the #MeToo wave swept the American entertainment industry.
