Dangote: Apologize To Me – Reno Omokri Tells Nigerians
When this Tax Reform Bill debate began, and I told Nigerians that the largest individual contributor to the VAT pool was the Dangote Group of Companies, I was attacked and savaged by many Southern Nigerians. But now, it has been confirmed by empirical data. When you combine the VAT contributions of the various Dangote businesses, they total more than what MTN remits to the FIRS.
I hope those who came after me and called me names can now apologise.
We have a country to run and must stop seeing each other from the prism of North and South. For President Tinubu to succeed, it is essential that we do not ethnicise the tax reform debate. There is a win-win solution. The focus should be on achieving that, not name calling and sabre rustling.
