Man laments as police arrest his sister for purging, currently spending second night in cell
A Nigerian man has shocked the internet by sharing a disturbing account of how his sister was arrested by the police for simply relieving herself.
The incident was detailed in a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he explained that his sister, who was experiencing severe purging, had stopped at a police checkpoint with her friend to ask for directions to a nearby restroom.
The officers directed them to a nearby bush, but one policeman followed his sister and began making inappropriate comments about her body while she was undressed.
Her friend defended her, which prompted the officer to slap the friend and arrest both women.
They are now spending their second night in police custody.
In his post, the man wrote: “If I tell you that my sister is in the police station just because she was purging and they had to stop at a checkpoint for ‘safety,’ she and her friend asked the police where she could ease herself. They directed them to the side of the bush.”
“Then one of the policemen went to where my sister was and started making comments about her body while she’s butt naked. Her friend had to defend her, and that’s how the officer slapped her. They started dragging her for talking back. As I’m speaking, this is their second night in the cell.”
