Outrage as employer rejects staff’s promo video because she wore her natural hair (video)
An employee has sparked a debate on X after she revealed that her employer rejected her promo video for the organisation because she wore her natural hair in the video.
The employee shared a screenshot of the feedback she received telling her the video cannot be used because her hair is not plaited. She was then asked if she could wear a wig to create another video.
This has sparked a conversation about hair politics and how society forces black women to hate their natural selves and rely heavily on wigs.
While some people took sides with the employee, others criticised her and accused her of making a big deal out of it.
