Outrage as Nigerian man shows off his “baby wife” and says he loves her even though she’s not old enough to get pregnant
A man claiming to be an Islamic student has sparked outrage after sharing a photo of an underage girl whom he claims is his wife.
He shared the photo while responding to a tweet from a man who posted his wife who just turned 18 carrying their newborn child.
He congratulated the man on having a young wife then showed off his own “baby wife”.
The girl, who looks younger than 10 years old, is seen posing with a hijab covering her head.
In the caption, the man wrote: “Allahu Akbar my dear brother Allah all mighty has certainly blessed you may your child be a righteous one. My baby wife Aminatu Gidado Bello isn’t old enough to get pregnant yet but I love her dearly.”
The tweet sparked outrage as Nigerians accused him of paedophilia and asked why such should be allowed in Nigeria.
Some X users tagged Naptip and asked them to take action.
