Man kills girlfriend, mother of two, over hook-up allegation in Delta


A 27-year-old man, Ubakpororo Kelvin, has been arrested by the state police command for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Excel Ukeredi Peace, after accusing her of engaging in hook-up.
The victim, who was also the mother of his two children, was killed on June 26, 2025.
Kelvin had been on the run since the incident but was recently apprehended. In a video shared by police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe, the suspect confessed to hitting her with a hammer during an argument.
He claimed the dispute escalated when she picked up a knife, and under the influence of tramadol and loud, he attacked her. He admitted to striking her three times on the forehead.
Kelvin also revealed that he works as a farmer and engages in internet fraud.
