Man confronts beggar after giving her N550K to start business
A Nigerian man has sparked debate after confronting a beggar whom he had previously empowered with ₦550,000 to start a business, only to find her back on the streets days later.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the philanthropist expressed his frustration after recognising the single mother of two, begging with her children despite the financial support she had recently received.
According to him, he had raised the money out of pity after seeing her condition and dissatisfaction with her struggles on the street.
When confronted, the woman admitted receiving the ₦550,000 but claimed she had been left helpless after her estranged husband allegedly resurfaced and took all the money the same day she got it.
She insisted her story was true, swearing that she had no reason to lie about her ordeal.
The man who was worried about his reputation, however, doubted her explanation, suggesting that she might be dishonest, which sparked tension during the exchange.
