Viral cobbler rearrested after using lady’s photos to scam men

Timilehin Oyedele Godwin, a physically challenged cobbler who once went viral for seeking love online, has issued multiple apologies after being arrested twice for impersonating women and using their photos to defraud unsuspecting men.

Timilehin, popularly known as Timi, gained widespread attention in 2023 when he posted on social media about his desire to find a wife.

His story touched many, as he openly showcased his challenges while dedicating himself to shoemaking. For a while, he was celebrated as an inspiring figure.

However, recent revelations have tainted that image. An Instagram user, identified as Damilola, accused Timi of stealing her identity and using her pictures to deceive men online.

Timi allegedly catfished men by pretending to be Damilola, even sending downloaded nude photos to make the impersonation more convincing.

His fraudulent activities reportedly dated back to 2022, with several victims misled into believing they were communicating with Damilola.

Screenshots shared by Damilola showed that Timi had opened multiple accounts, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and TikTok, with her details.

After being called out, Timi made a video confession, admitting to imperso nating Damilola and using her pictures to scam men. He acknowledged downloading explicit images online and sharing them to deceive victims.

Despite his admission, Timi tried to downplay the scandal in private messages, describing it as an “old case” while claiming he was only attempting to “redeem” Damilola’s image.

His attempts to dismiss the allegations backfired, leading to his rearrest. Authorities then compelled him to make another public apology video.
